Threat actors are actively exploiting a newly identified patch bypass in N-able RMM servers, leveraging CVE-2026-18577 to gain unauthenticated administrator access. The vendor identified the new exploitation vector over the weekend after discovering that initial remediation efforts failed to completely block authentication bypass attempts. Because Remote Monitoring and Management platforms hold deep privilege across managing and managed networks, immediate mitigation is critical.
Mechanics of the Vulnerability
Authentication bypass vulnerabilities in management consoles allow remote attackers to skip identity verification, often by manipulating HTTP headers, request paths, or API logic.
